Éomer is a significant character in J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy, The Lord of the Rings. He is the nephew of King Théoden of Rohan, son of Théodwyn and Éomund. His sister is Éowyn.
Initially, Éomer is Third Marshal of the Riddermark, a position of great responsibility in Rohan's military structure. He is known for his loyalty to his people and his fierce warrior spirit. He clashed with Gríma Wormtongue, Théoden's advisor, due to Wormtongue's treachery and influence over the King.
Éomer's relationship with Théoden is complex, influenced by Wormtongue's manipulations. However, after Gandalf heals Théoden, Éomer is restored to his rightful position and becomes a key military leader in the war against Sauron.
He fought bravely at the Battle of Helm's Deep and led the Rohirrim charge at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, avenging Théoden's death. Following the War of the Ring, Éomer becomes King of Rohan, ushering in an era of peace and prosperity. He marries Lothíriel of Dol Amroth.
